Ages ago back in summer I was asked by the lovely ladies at Cagecity HQ to go and do a shoot featuring some of my favourite brands including MinkPink and StyleStalker. There were also some great one off unique handmade pieces. I got to style up all the outfits and there were some great pieces to choose from! Afterwards I answered a few questions in an interview which you can read here. Anyway I thought I would share a few of the final images with you. Apologies now for my appalling photoshop skill. If nothing else, I was pretty happy with how my styling came out - such cute outfits if only they were all in my wardrobe!

My favourite outfits have to be number 1, number 3 and number 5. Absolutely in love with the thick pink knitted embellished jumper teamed with the crochet black skirt. The handmade purple bomber is another favourite grunged up with black JC Coltranes and a strappy dress.  My least favourite has to be the second outfit, it's really not very me, in hindsight I'm not quite sure why I picked a bodycon skirt as I would rarely ever wear anything bodycon  :\

In other news i'm 'Blog of the moment' on Bangstyle's website. You can read my full interview here:

Chow for now!

P.S. Apologies if the comment box doesn't work it's sooo annoying for some reason it's unfixable and doesn't let some people comment #gah

I'm such a bad blogger at the moment. Winter is so awkward as it gets to dark early blah blah blah I know so many excuses. Anyway i'm back and i'm gonna try a bit harder to post more often providing I can find cute outfits haha.

I went to the Bitching and Junkfood sample sale the other day... Is it even possible for there to be a better sample sale? I got sooo much including these cute dungarees for only £10 - barg of the century. They're actually a bit big for me and fall down quite a lot but I had to get them! I always use this cheapo eBay cropeed net top to layer under dresses and dungarees to add a 90's vibe, completely transforms an otherwise quite twee and plain outfit.

Dungaree dress - Bitching and Junkfood sample sale £10  Netted top - eBay £4ish // Dr Martens - eBay £35ish // Lipstick - Sleek

Merry Christmas y'all! Are any of you B&J fans?!

Another Christmassy wishlist featuring a few more affordable items! I'm obsessed with anything gold and glittery at the moment. Mark Milton's 'Endless' collection is right up my street ie thick gold rope necklaces - perfect to layer over crushed velvet dresses. Also, how cute is this kitty dress from Persun? It looks so similar to the Lazy Oaf beaut but a fraction of the price, winning!

What's your favourite?

Seeing as it's Christmas I thought I would show you a few of my (very expensive) lusted items from Ernest Jones*. There's some great brands including my all time favourites Marc by Marc Jacobs and Amanda Wakeley. Now I just need some very generous friends and family. #hinthint

Seeing as my current budget is about 1% of the prices of the gems above, I better start saving!

At last i've managed to get out to get an outfit together, sorry about the significant lack of outfits on my blog at the moment. It's so difficult to get the time to take photos when it's getting dark by 4pm! GAH

I got sent this cut out denim shirt from nANA jUDY and if i'm honest was really unsure of it when I got it out of its packaging as the cut is so unusual. When I tried it on I realised it sits in exactly the right place on me, subtly showing off some shoulder. You can tell the design has had a lot of thought and clever craftmanship put into it, i'm a huge fan! Obviously not completely appropriate for this bitter weather so I layered up with a super soft faux fur gilet from Rosegal. Rosegal sell a great mixture of vintage and new ranging from coats to jewelry. The item arrived really quickly and is great quality. Also, can we take a minute to appreciate how cute this 'Alien' necklace is from Punky Pins, I'm obsessed with anything Alien-esque at the moment so obviously decided to have Alien written on a necklace instead of my name...

Boots - Dr Martens via eBay £30 // Skirt - Boohoo £12ish // Denim cut out shirt c/o nANA jUDY // Faux Fur Gilet c/o Rosegal // Alien necklace c/o Punky Pins

What do you think of this look?

It's nearly Christmas and that means one thing for me: food, food, food and more food. Turkey, gingerbread men, advert calenders, chocolate, cheese sauce, mince pies, roast potatoes. The list goes on...

Normally I find it quite hard to get all Christmassy and festive but this year I seem to be in the mood already, maybe it's the thought of all that food! I visited the ultra original 'Winter Wonderland' this week haha. As samey as it is, it's always great fun for an hour's entertainment. Tip for ye though; do not go on a Saturday unless you're willing to queue to get in. Yes, QUEUE. Anyway the decorations are up in my house and the Christmas TV ads are back on screen. Everyone always seems to buzz off the Coca Cola ad but it's this new BHS ad that's really caught my eye this year:

It's genuinely really creative, quirky and right up my street with toys coming to life, how exciting!! Funnily enough I went Christmas shopping last week and went all around town with not much luck until I got to BHS and actually got most of my gifts from there, they have some great ideas and are a lot cheaper than other department stores cough John Lewis cough. I want to tell you all what I got but I don't want them reading this ;)

Two more presents to get anyway so the stress of that has nearly gone yay! What's your favourite ad this Christmas?

New Year's is an event you definitely need to pre plan a showstopping outfit. It's always a bit of an awkward one and I feel a bit too dressy as i'm too used to casual dressing!

*Of course, you could wait until the post-Christmas sales to pick up a bargain or two, but if you want to have the pick of the best items on the rails, start looking sooner, rather than later. Before you head for the shops though, you should have an idea of what you’re hoping to wear? Are you and your friends organising something special? Is it a more casual affair? The type of celebrations you are expecting will dictate what you wear, but here are some fantastic choices to help inspire you.

Party Dress
Pick a party dress from George and you won’t have to worry about spending too much on an outfit. A pretty party dress is one of a woman’s wardrobe essentials and one that can be worn again and again will mean extra value for money.

The style of party dress will depend on what you feel most confident in. If you have the figure to flaunt, a little black dress would be perfect, while Bodycon dresses will help to smooth over any lumps and bumps (after all, NYE is after the inevitable Christmas binge!).

Evening Dress

If you’re heading out to somewhere a little classy, for example to a posh fine dining restaurant or to an elegant ball, a simple party dress may not cut it. You may have to go all out with a glitzy evening dress but don’t worry, you don’t have to spend a fortune if you don’t want to. Evening dresses make their way into the sales all the time, so if you’re willing to wait a little bit, you could bag a bargain after Christmas.

Fancy Dress

Are you going out on the town and making a fun-filled night of it? Plenty of friends plan some sort of fancy dress debauchery and if you give yourself enough time to plan, you can make your efforts that little bit better. Accessorise with some Snazaroo face paints to make your fancy dress outfit that little more authentic, or get creative with some great make up techniques.

Dress It Down

Dressing casually is all that’s needed in many cases, especially if your NYE celebrations involve a trip to the local or having a few friends over for drinks. A simple skirt and tights with pretty top could be all that’s needed to make an impression without worrying about having to dress up.

Whatever your plans, bring 2014 in with a bang! Happy New Year!
