CUT ME OUT

Heyyy,

Yes your eyes are not mistaking you, it's me in a cut out black bodycon dress. For those of you who don't know me, I don't do bodycon, and I definitely don't do cut out dresses, especially after I saw blogging BABE Lydia from Fashion Influx I thought how am I ever going to look as good as that! I decided to push myself out of safe territory though and try this Lashes of London dress. I love all of Lashes' designs and the rest of their collection is heavenly. I thought this dress was a really unusual cut out design and have surprised myself with how much I like it (even if I did forget to suck in and look 5 months pregnant). I paired it with my favorite kimono and a million year old Jeffrey's as I don't think i'm brave enough these days to go out in something so erm, tight?

Cut out dress - c/o Lashes of London // Kimono - c/o Soinfashion // Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell

What do you think of bodycon dresses? I do love this Lashes number but I think I might just leave them for Mercedes McQueen to rock.

VELVET DAISY LOVES DR MARTENS

Hellooo,

As you all know i'm a huge fan of Dr Martens. When I was studying in Northampton, probably the only benefit of the town was it right next to the Dr Martens factory outlet, I mean what more does a girl want?! Consequently I managed to pick up about 20 pairs overall. You can never have too many pairs in my opinion, especially with the new super cute Agyness Deyn collections. These are a few of my favorites which are all up for purchase from here

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

What's your favorite pair? Mine are definitely the studded pink sandals!

Ciao for now!

BOOM TOWN 13

Helloo,

I aaaaaalways do outfit after outfit and I reckon you all probably get bored of the same old so I thought I would show you a few snaps from Boom Town seeing as I never shut up about it. These don't actually show much of what went on, mainly just camp side drinking antics and poorly painted faces - standard. I will definitely be returning to 'The UK's Maddest City' next year and will hopefully document the craziness better, but until then eat your heart out...

Have you been to any festivals this year? Leave your links with your festival style/snaps! :D

BINDI LOVING

Yoo yo yo,

I haven't blogged since boom town last week and words can't even describe how crazy and amazing it was. It was definitely the best 4 days i've ever had and I want to go every year of my life. It's not like any festival i've ever been to before, and the thought of returning to V after this literally makes me want to vom. Everyone was dressed up in fun fancy dress, everything was far from ordinary and I felt like I was in my spiritual home! I have a few photos but I dunno if you're interested in seeing them?

I went out for a quick lunch by the canal today with Dan, and dragged him in to take a few snaps (obviously). The overlay on my skirt is actually an Indian bolero I picked up from the car boot but it fitted perfectly round my waist and I think looks really cute over the top of skirts and dresses. What do you think?

 Skirt - Topshop £32 // Bolero used as overskirt - Car boot sale £4 // Crop top - Urban Outfitters £16 // Chain - River Island £12 // Bindi - Pack of about 1000 - eBay £2 // Shoes - Dr Martens £30ish // Socks - Topshop £3 // Rucksack - Car boot £50p

Dan taking the mickey out of my poses pa ha ha! (sorry had to include this!!)

Are any of you going to carnival this weekend? I'll be there on Sunday, come say heyyyyy :D

THE FUTURE OF FASHION

Futuristic fashion is a current key trend and designers are increasingly looking into into the future for inspiration for their next design. After the huge Black Milk galaxy printed leggings craze that the entire high street all rinsed to death, Sci-Fi looks and space-age designs are still prominent. Designer wise, the ILJA Spring 2013 Collection features floor-length gowns accentuated with sharp, sculptural embellishments. Additionally the Hasan Hejazi's autumn/winter 2013 campaign entitled Polaris modeled by Abbey Clancy features metallics and angular head pieces.

These are my favourite sci fi inspired pieces from the high street at the moment:
1 2 3 4 5 6

Fashion isn't the only industry borrowing from the future; the technological industry is constantly pushing its boundaries too. Part of Sony Xperia Z smartphones' latest campaign shows the phones mounted on a one-off spiral rig set up to capture every angle of an explosive fashion collaboration that pushes fashion and technology to new limits.

'Xperia Z Versus Fashion' captures every angle of three explosive transitions that model Sera underwent, while wearing four pieces of fashion designer Christopher Raeburn's recent collection for London Fashion Week.

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS

Hii,

First of all i'm about to leave to go to BOOM TOWN, i'm sooooo excited and I just know it's going to be the funnest weekend of my life. We've got the glitter, face paint, unicorns, paddling pool and fancy dress ready! Eeeeeek :D

I'm really really excited to show you this Jump From Paper bag I kindly got sent. I love anything fun when it comes to fashion so when I got to choose one of their amazing styles I couldn't believe it. I couldn't quite get my head around it as it looks like it's been photoshopped on the image, hence the 'Jump from paper' name. It arrived at my house and the design is amazing, I couldn't wait to photograph it. I'm really happy with the photos and am still so shocked at how cartoony it looks. I couldn't recommend this bag enough, it really does turn heads!

This fringed Soinfashion kimono is a new favorite piece in my wardrobe. It's perfect for festivals and I love how it adds so much texture to my outfit.

Silk dress - £38 Topshop // Platforms - Topshop via a friend // Necklace - c/o Whittle by Design // Fringed Kimono c/o So in fashion // Glasses - c/o Firmoo // Bag - c/o Jump From Paper

I love this mirror necklace c/o of a freelance fashion designer who's website is Whittle by Design. She gets her inspiration from geometric shapes and incorporates lots of acrylic into her designs. Follow her on Facebook, her blog  and her Instagram.

I love these bright coloured specs from Firmoo  they are really good quality and a great fit. I always struggle find frames that suit me but I actually really like these. Anyone can get their first pair for free if you click this link - there's plenty to choose from!

A REAL GIRL

Hellooo,

I feel like a real girl for once in my life. It's so rare I would ever wear something like this but I am actually really impressed with the fit and how it looks. I definitely wouldn't think twice about wearing this Chi Chi dress to a posh event, now I just need an invite somewhere fancy!

LOVE LETTERS FROM PORTSMOUTH

Heyy yoo,

I went to Portsmouth again this week with my friend as he had to sign some work documents so I tagged along for the journey, luckily it was absolutely boiling! After continuously calling the Spinnaker the Shard LOL #londongirlproblems we just sat on the beach all day, sunbathed and played in the arcades. I LOVE the seaside- the only thing London is missing in my opinion!

When I last went out with my besty Lexie from lexiesfloordrobe she was wearing these amaze balls heart print high waisted jeans from Toppers so when I saw the same print on this cute summer dress I had to get it... A huge Coltrane overload at the moment - sorry I need some new shoesies

Heart dress - £42 Topshop / Coltranes - £120 Jeffrey Campbell / Bubble bag - £4ish eBay / Necklace - Vintage

Are you a fan of bold prints? I love the hearts on this dress!
