Still chillin' in Melbourne. Winter has finally gone hoorah, not a lot to report this end, just working working saving saving for my next adventure to Central/South America. My housemate Zack and I took a trip to Brighton Beach and Luna Park, mainly for the super cool exterior. Weird clown scary face, what a great excuse for some cute new blawg photos huh? Kinda impossible not to get photo bombed by snotty five year old's and their parents but this has to be the best entrance to an amusement park like eva? Tnx Missguided for the cute shirt dress also.

Just a quick one from me today, got work!

Until next time....

I've been super duper busy recently so have only just had the time to edit these photos to post. I recently worked at the Melbourne Gift Fair exhibition on a stall 'Cool Coconut' - jewelery made from cocounut shell - cool huh? It was so much fun, can't wait to meet up with the guys again in sunny Byron Bay. At the show we were exhibiting next to a brand selling handmade items from Nepal. A few of you might know I recently spent a few months in India and am obsessed with the Indian/Nepalese style so when I found out they were selling off their samples I jumped at the chance to buy this super cute rainbow handmade crochet scarf...I have to be so selective when i'm travelling not to buy much as I have no room but couldn't resist this!

But for now i'm currently working at the feminine and sassy Aussy fashion retailer Alannah Hill, trying to work as much as possible to save up those dollar bills...

Tassel top - c/o Missguided // Jeans  - Topshop Joni £32ish // Shoes - Dr Martens £50ish // Crochet scarf - Mandela $15 // Leather rucksack - India £10 // Wooden watch - c/o Jord Watches

In recent year I've become increasingly concious of where my clothing/accessories are being made and from what materials, which is why when Jord Watches got in contact with me offering me the chance to review one of their wooden timepieces made from sustainable materials I couldn't wait to receieve it. I love the natural look of this watch and it's very easy to style up, matching almost all outfits.

What do you think of this outfit? Have you considered buying a wooden watch?

I often get asked to sample/review various sorts of items on my blog. I love the variety of branching out into different areas and not necessarily sticking just to fashion as I think it gets a bit tedious outfit post after outfit post, so a bit of change up is always a good thing right? It’s exciting writing about something new and hopefully exciting to read too! :)

I was recently contacted by a great company [Smile Brilliant] and asked to test out their teeth whitening treatment. For me, whitening treatments are one of those things that i’ve always looked at in drug stores and thought okay there’s way too much choice and this looks kinda confusing so have put it to the back of mind. Having braces for 2 years when I was younger was awful and I guess i’ve always been slightly conscious about teeth so any product that claims to improve them is always great!

I have now completed 4 courses of the whitening over the course of a month and the whole experience has been seamless. When the kit first arrived at my door I did feel like this was going to be mission impossible but the lovely Carmen talked me through every step making the entire process very simple to understand. The kit actually comes with fool proof instructions also ironing out any problems you think you will encounter.

My teeth have never been hugely yellow but they’re definitely not gleaming white either so I was excited to find out really how white this product could make my teeth.

The kit includes: Teeth whitening trays, carry case, impression material, custom dental models, professional teeth whitening gel, desensitizing gel and (fool proof) instructions.

Here are the before and after snaps which speak for themselves! I moved house between photos so the lighting is slightly different but I can definitely see a difference.

So far I have only completed 4 sessions, there are many more to come and so the results will continue to get better!

Session 1: 55 mins
Session 2: 60 mins
Session 3: 65 mins
Session 4: 60 mins

Thanks so much Carmen for organising everything and being so patient. I would highly recomend Smile Brilliant for a professional, positive and effective teeth whitening experience.

I know i've been neglecting the blog a bit recently whilst I travel as it's been so hard to keep updated whilst not having a permanent address. But finally yay i'm in Melbourne and have a super cool house right in the city so at last will hopefully be able to upload some outfits (when I can persuade my bf to take them lol). So apparently Melbourne is the fashion capital of Aus right? I really have no excuse. Can't wait to get my head down in a job now for the duration, it's been too long. So nice to feel settled again. Anyway there's so many cool backdrops around the city so i'm not short of those, just need to go shopping now and update my backback with some new city sassy threads.

Sweater - MinkPink outlet ($35/£17) // Jeans Joni - Topshop £35ish // Pony hair pumps - Zu $30/£15

A really simple outfit today, but i'm in love with these new cute pony hair slip ons - absolute bargain at only $30 (£15) but shame they give me huge blisters WAH. But all is well, there is a MINKPINK OUTLET on my road, seriously yes! So that's where every single thing I own is going to be from soon eek.

What do you guys think of this outfit? Are any of my followers from Melbourne? Would looove to talk to you about cool places to go see/visit.

Hey yoooo,

I'm loving the fact i'm finally at a permanent address as i'm able to post my outfits more regularly. YAY to that. The great thing about Melbourne is you never run out of back drops either, I didn't stray far from my house in this one. I actually went to leave to find a park or something and realised my own back door was kinda cool, well I thought so anyways ba ha.

I've always been more of a VANS gal, but have recently seen the light and realised there's nothing better then a pair of battered [Converse]! My favs are obviously the classic white/black styles, i'm not ready to rock the cerise pink yet but watch this space hehe. Picked up this cutesy sport luxe MinkPink dress from the outlet near me for $30, god I love that store.

 Converse - c/o JD Sports (tnx guys) // Dress - MinkPink Outlet $30 // Bag - India £10

Would love to know what you think of this outfit - needing some encouragement on the old blawg at the moment hehe!

Anyways I have an interview this afternoon, wish me luck guyssss eek.

Hey lovelies,

This week I received the most beautiful bunch of flowers at my door; isn't it the best feeling ever? Us gals don't get sent flowers even nearly enough. Unfortunately I have no secret admirers, but I do have Serenata Flowers on my side! The flowers looked stunning when they arrived - not a hint of withering at all. I actually sent this bunch over to my mum as a surprise to enjoy in her house!

I have teamed up with the bright and beautiful [Serenata Flowers], and they are offering one of my followers the chance to win a £40 online voucher (which is enough to buy the best and most beautiful bunch!) Spoil your family or surpise your best friend with a beautiful bunch! All you have to do is fill in the Rafflecopter widget below for your chance to win.

T&C's: Winner will be announced on 24th July. All entrants must be a mainland UK resident. The prize is a £40 voucher to spend online, no cash alternative available.

Hey guys,

I've seriously had to take a look at my style as recently i've been finding that I've been dressing more and more like a 5 year old in comfy bright jumpers and Kickers. As much as I love that look i've been trying to change it up a bit so i'm trying to inject some classics back in my wardrobe, and what better way than with some monochrome. Monochrome is huge on the catwalk this season so I thought I would try and adopt a slice of it into my own style. I've grouped together some of my fav pieces from [Missmerize] this season with everything retailing under £70:

1. Abstract trousers are a great way to make a statement this summer. Team with pointy black heels and a plain top. At £12 they are such a steal. Buy [here]

2. I'm a big midi skirt fan as they are so easy to style for a summer's day. Wear this one with a white bralet and simple black heels. £30 Buy [here]

3. Stay on trend with a graphic laser cut bag, still fitting in with the monochrome theme this week at £69. Buy [here]

4. Go abstract with this brush print dress. It's a super flattering cut so will suit any body shape, take from day to night with a cute pair of heels. £33 Buy [here]

5. This checked tee is really easy to wear, throw on over a pair of simple trousers for an on trend office look. £26 Buy [here]

6. This is one of my favourite pieces as it's so versatile. Wear grungey with a pair of Dr Martens or keep it simple and layer over some tees with a pair of jeans. £30 Buy [here]

What do you think of this trend? Will you be suporting the monochrome theme this summer?

Hey lovelies,

I've recently been lucky enough to travel a place I've always wanted to go: Tokyo! For me, Tokyo offers so much in terms of technology, food, and of course fashion and has always been on the top of my travel destination wish list for these reasons. I remember studying Tokyo's fashion scene in my first year of university and fell in love with the futuristic and outlandish outfits. I've definitely been inspired by Tokyo's fashion scene in my own personal style so it was amazing to finally be in the heart of one of the most fashionable cities in the world.

Obviously the entire city of Tokyo is renowned worldwide for it's forward thinking fashion but it was Harajuku in particular that I was so keen to visit. I was hoping I could just rock up and see all the Harajuku girls doing their thang but it wasn't quite the case. I did see a few walking around however and plucked up the courage to ask for a quick shameful snap - they must get so sick of tourists ha ha. Anyway they were all super lovely and happily posed for me but the area isn't exactly what's described on the Internet. I'm sure it used to be but because of the immense increase in tourism they now all meet elsewhere.

I'm sure most of you do but for those who don't know who the Harajuku girls are, Harajuku is a street style which originated among teens in Shibuya, Japan, recently popularised by Gwen Stefani. This umbrella term includes a number of different styles including Cosplay - dressing up as your favourite anime character, Sweet Lolita - inspired by child like themes, Alice in Wonderland ect, and Kawaii - literally translating in Japanese to 'Cute'.  Here's a few photos from my street style snaps collection to give you an idea of the fashion scene - how cute does everyone look!

Would love to know what you think!
Have the Harajuku girls inspired your personal style in any way?

I always get a lot of questions on where I have traveled and what are the best things to do in each area, so as I have recently traveled to a small section of Borneo I have compiled my favorite things to do. Hopefully some of you might be interested and it could help you with your itinerary if visiting the same area as traveling always requires so much research. Borneo was just a small stop gap for me between countries so I actually visited only a very small part of Sabah IN15 days but there was still so much to do.

From the countries I have traveled so far Borneo was definitely a huge highlight for me as there is so much of what I love there: wildlife! If wildlife is not really your thing, I do not think I would recommend it too much as every tour is catered around this - also in my top picks! I can not imagine many people would like to see the amazing jungles of Borneo though!

1. Visit the Sepilok Orang Utan Conservation Centre and the Sun Bear Conservation Centre

If you are flying in from Sandakan airport, head straight to Sepilok as it's only a 15 minute taxi drive. No visit to Borneo is complete without a visit to the Orang Utan Conservation Centre - this place is amazing. These endangered Orang Utans have been rescued from a variety of backgrounds including the pet trade and poachers. They are put on a rehabilitation scheme with the intent to eventually release them back into the wild independently with no reliance on humans. The Orang Utans are completely free to roam the jungle as they please, but choose to come back to the center's feeding platform several times a day, a way for the center to keep an eye on their progress! Entrance to this is around £ 5

Just next door is the Sun Bear Conservation Centre, similarly to the Orang Utans but these are all rescued from the pet trade mainly. As these are the largest bears in the world unfortunately there are huge numbers of them being trained to put on shows for tourists and are kept and sometimes cruelly beaten. This center provides sanctuary for the bears and they are taught how to become independent again before being released back into the wild. Both centers are doing amazing things for these beautiful animals and your entrance fees are going to a great cause. These are a definite must during your visit in Borneo but definitely do not expect to be able to hold the animals or have any contact with them!
2.  Go on a Kinabatangan river cruise

I was unsure at first whether to do this river cruise trip as it definitely is not the cheapest thing to do ( Around £ 100 ) and I am always wary of big organized trips from travel agents (who take a huge commission) but I am so glad I did. This trip was probably my favorite thing I did in Borneo and would recommend it to anyone. We toured the river for around 3 hours per day and were lucky enough to see a huge array of wildlife including elephants, monitor lizards, snakes, crocodiles, different types of monkey and kingfishers. I actually loved it so much I extended my stay one extra night here! It was amazing seeing these beautiful wild species to freely roam the landscape they are meant to be in - truly a once in a lifetime experience which to me is invaluable. It's sad that we mostly see these types of animals trapped in zoos in the western world.

3. Trek through the jungle at night

This was such a great experience. The jungle is a completely different place in the day to when dark. The nocturnal animals come out and you see it from a different perspective. I would definitely recommend organizing a night trek, you can arrange a guide to help you spot the creatures for a really reasonable price. I actually did this walk both nights and saw so many different creatures including tarsiers, wild cats, various critters, and sleeping kingfishers! I did not know until I saw birds slept these! Ha ...

4. Visit Turtle Island

Again this is another one of those packages for tourists which make me wary, but this did not disappoint at all. Although quite pricy, I decided it was another thing I just could not miss out on. This island it one of the only places in the world turtles come up every single day to the beach and lay their eggs. This conservation island allows you the chance to see the mummy turtle lay her eggs (whilst keeping to strict guidelines) and then releasing the hatchlings from previous layings into the sea. Super sad that only about 5% of babies actually survive though.

I hope this post has been interesting for you guys who are planning on going to either Borneo or are interested in what I've been up to!

Would love to hear about your travels or your travel plans, leave a comment below!
